Ah but u can (pretty much) constantly reapply DW, only 3 second recharge. Just in case it gets removed. My dervish has over 600 health so deep wound at beginning helps me alot because it puts most monsters under 600 health right off the bat and thusly making them prime targets for chilling victory and victorius sweep. And if there are other guys around me they get hit for DW as well, making it able to take down 3 guys very quickly. Group Spiking....(oxymoron?) kinda what a Dervish does.... hmmm..... Truth be told, I haven't even capped Reaper's Sweep with my Dervish yet. It's on my list(Dervish is trying to cap all elites), I started with the harder caps first(Sandstorm[not in Rilohn, woops], RoF caps, and FoC to name a few). I used the Avatars(not a big fan of them anymore) until I capped Wounding Strike. I found Wounding Strike by accident, the guy who had the Green Scythe I wanted(Eshekibeh's Scythe) happened to have Wounding Strike. I love that skin! Again a matter of preference... It's wrong. AoE = Necro (like SS or SS + Barbs plus MM Hero, Mark of Fury, etc) Single Target = Necro (Spoil Victor or such another skills, like Grenth's Balace) Single Armor = not the necro, but gives the party a great Tank team playing as Minion Mancer. So, Necro is the best way... |

Single Target = debatable but definetely NOT necro according to your arguments. Grenths Balance and SV totally depend on your health and/or the targets health so it is not always effective. Although when effective it's damn good. Necro does have good single target dmg spells due to armor ignoring damage ill give you that. Armor = Minion Masters are a valid point, an army of minions is a damn good tank. Only problem is you need corpses to make this army, again conditional. Grenths Requires your health to be low and the targets health to be high to be effective adn SV requires at least the targets health to be high. Great on bosses(case and point: SV owns Shiro and Grenths stops that damn meditation BS if used right), but most normal monsters have normal health(around 600) lvl 24 guys have 560 and lvl 28 guys have 640. |

Mesmers are actually one of my best PVP classes. I usually have the ability to take apart the weaknesses of others. It's mainly just a mind game as a mesmer. Backfire the monk, if they try to remove it, cast diversion and try to steal their spells that remove hexes or their elites while annoying the hell out of melee classes with empathy. Frenzy warriors are my favourite targets for empathy. Most are gullible enough to still attack. If they're smart enough not to attack, I use energy surge on them to still cause massive damage, as most warriors just use adrenaline, so will have enough energy to take the full damage.
Elementalists are vicious in PVE. The best at taking out groups quickly with the right build. Energy won't always be an issue if you know how to use your skills efficiently. A mark of rodgort to cause constant burning usually aids you too. Monks are a great class in PVE or PVP, as long as the person using the monk is smart enough. I always get called an amazing monk, but I just don't enjoy it as much as I do the damage based classes. Being a monk is easy enough for me, and doing a mission, I just feel like I'm walking through it rather than contributing. With poor teams that go out of their way to take damage, you'll have a lot of work. With great teams that know what they're doing, you'll have nothing more than patch work. Assassins can take down a single target quickly. Very quickly. But if they're not careful or get spiked, they'll also be the ones to die quickly. So in the end, it all comes down to a class you're comfortable with and good enough with to help the team. I'm comfortable with a monk, mesmer or elementalist in PVP and I can play any class in PVE efficiently. That also means I won't take my chances playing a ranger in PVP as I'd be uncomfortable with the best build for different situations, rather than just being an interrupter. |
